Is It Vegan is a tool for anyone interested in eliminating animal products from their diet.
Simply scan the UPC bar code on the package of any food or beverage product, and youll see:
Whether the product is vegan, vegetarian, or neither.
A summary classifying the list of ingredients.
A detail list showing which ingredients are vegan, vegetarian, non-vegetarian, etc.
And the original (unclassified) list of ingredients for the product.
After putting each ingredient into a category, Is It Vegan then decides whether the product is suitable for a vegan or vegetarian diet.
Is It Vegan has information on hundreds of thousands of food and beverage products and verifies each of them using a master list containing thousands of pre-classified ingredients.
Users now have the option to upload products, making our database larger than ever!

I really loved the app, thank you, it was exactly what Im looking for!
It is a new app so there of course thins to be improved. But overall it is fantastic. I have been waiting for something like this for forever and here it is! A must have app for any vegan out there ☺️
Its fair to say theyre constantly updating it and it seems to hold more information every time I come back to it. Its really informative, you can finally feel safe eating food because youll genuinely know if its vegan/vegetarian.
Some bad moments
Lousiest database I have EVER seen! EVERY scanned item was unknown, even imported brands that I know are vegan and popular around the world. With this kind of database, if you think for a second that I will spend moneys for your other paid app: KEEP DREAMING.
This app is the ideal app for people who are vegans, people who are new to the vegan world. This app have a lot of bugs that needs correcting. When food shopping I use this app to determine if the product Im buying is vegan. At times this app works but other times this app doesnt work. If the developers fix these minor hiccups, this app would do great wonders; especially to new vegans such as myself.
App opens but any usable buttons are hidden behind Ads. Means its just not usable.
So far, anything I know is vegan, just to test it out, claims the info is unavailable. Its not working on anything. Make it Canadian-friendly, then Ill come back to this app.
Everything I scanned had no info in the app! Not one thing I scanned told me if it was vegan of not. I cant find where to add ingredients to a scanned item to help build the data, so what gives? Why is there so little product info in this app?
I really like this idea. But out of 15 items I scanned only 3 Came back with information. Had to spend time sending the other items information to the app designer to add to the system. Not sure how long I will keep if I have to keep adding items. Takes up way to much time.
