Great idea for an app but whenever I press the scanner, the app crashes. When I type in the barcode it never works. Not impressed at all.

But the app hangs, crashes, brings no results from well known products like Vega shake.

The concept of this app is great and it wouldve been an amazing tool to have as a consumer but it doesnt recognize even the most basic and common products, wont scan anything! I tried the free app first with no luck then bought the $4.99 version hoping the free version was a dud but the paid version was no better :(

Dont. It doesnt have a lot of stuff and the "scan barcode" option closes the app. Youre better off googling "is _____ vegan?"

Ive had this app for awhile, and it used to work about 50% of the time. I assumed it was new and I live in Canada so all the products may not be loaded yet. Over the last 6 months or so, the app hasnt worked at all. Items that used to scan dont anymore. The app freezes all the time and doesnt work for anything. It would be nothing less than amazing if the developers could fix this. It would be such a useful tool for vegans, new and old.

Added it and could not get it to work. Just had ads. Not impressed.

Just installed it despite all the bad reviews. Scanned several products actually labeled vegan just to test it and the app does not recognize the items. Crappy app. Immediate removed. Why offer such garbage. Good idea - very very poor delivery !

This app could be so useful, but instead its completely useless. 0/10 would recommend.

Most items I scanned werent in the database and when I try to add and take pictures. Nothing I did shows up. Major updates are needed on this app

As many have said, the idea for the app is great but the app itself is not. Along with the app crashing and having little to no information, it also gives you false information. i.e Sour Patch Candy: The app says they are "definitely vegan, and then goes on to list Red 40 as an ingredient. Red 40 is not vegan. There could be inaccurate information with other ingredients in other products as well, which therefore makes this app unreliable and kind of useless.

This app doesnt work on any of the products I scan. It just scans the product and doesnt change

I tried using it today while shopping for shampoo, every bar code I scanned said the item was unknown. No help at all, I removed it!

This app could be amazing, but it freezes more than it works. Im a new vegetarian and this app could be so helpful when trying to decide what is vegetarian and what is not. Unfortunately, it has turned me into that a*****e at the grocery store who just stares at their phone in the middle of the aisle.

Super helpful, usually super accurate!

This app has outdated ingredient lists for many items. I have scanned several items (including some that have the certified vegan label) that this app identified as not vegetarian for ingredients that are not in the item. I know that companies change their ingredients frequently but it has happened too many times for this app to be useful for me.

The app lets you scan barcodes on food products to check the ingredients to see if it is plant-based or not. If the scanner doesnt work, you can manually type in the UPC. THAT is wonderful! The app helped me get through most of my pantry to figure things out. The bad news is that sometimes you will scan something that the program hasnt seen. It gives you the option to add the ingredients and UPC number to the database, but then it had a pop-up that says it lost connection to the server. You click "okay" to start over but as soon as the pop-up is gone it pops back up again.... Three more times.... And then finally it lets you back into the app. You try to enter the item again but it does this EVERY time (for me anyways). Also, sometimes it scans things improperly. It mistook a can of Heinz Tomatoe Sauce as Olay Foot Cream? The UPC wasnt even close. Then, after a few scans, it starts putting a pop-up in between every scan for a product and the actual page with that information. Sometimes I scan and then I see the page of information start to lead and then BAM! ad. So I watch it, but then the information from the scan is lost because it couldnt hold a connection for that long to the server or something? If I wasnt trying to scan so many I wouldnt have been so aggrevated. Sometimes it even stops you in the middle of a manual input of a UPC just to give you an ad and they last 5 seconds. Its a long number. And I didnt even finish typing it. And youre going to stop me in the the middle? What?! There are so many ads. I looked into buying the ad-free version but with the way it looses connection to the server or w/e all the time... Idk if I want to spend money on a product I cant use when I dont have signal. Theres plenty of other apps that I can use to simply look up ingredients that dont need signal that are also free. Helpful, but until the bugs are fixed Ill keep my money.
